The PROA7PLUS is Resideo's flagship self-contained alarm panel and the foundation of the ProSeries platform. Everything a small system needs lives inside a single enclosure — a bright color touchscreen, the wireless controller, the communicator, a microphone and speaker, and an 85 dB sounder. That consolidation is what makes ProSeries fast to install and easy for an end user to operate from one screen.
What it does
The panel serves as the central hub for security, life safety, and smart-home control. From the touchscreen a customer can arm and disarm, check zone status, view connected cameras and doorbells, and trigger automation. The platform is highly scalable — a single PROA7PLUS supports up to 250 devices, which lets one architecture cover a small home and a multi-tenant light-commercial building without changing hardware families.
Why installers like it
ProSeries was designed around service efficiency. Radios and batteries are end-user replaceable, so a communication upgrade or battery swap doesn't require pulling the panel. The PROWIFIZW module (Wi-Fi plus Z-Wave) ships installed, giving the panel network connectivity and automation control out of the box, and LTE cellular can be added as a plug-in module for dual-path reliability.
A note on branding: recent ProSeries panels carry First Alert branding (PROA7PLUS-FA) and consolidate the earlier "plus" panel variants into a single SKU. The platform and capabilities are the same — only the label on the bezel has changed.
Where it fits in a PDI proposal
The PROA7PLUS is the right call for homes, small offices, and tenant spaces where a clean single-panel system, app control, and room to add cameras and automation matter more than the large door counts and commercial-fire integration of a panel like the DMP XR550.
