A panel is only as trustworthy as the sensors reporting to it. PROSiX is Resideo's encrypted sensor line for the ProSeries platform, and encryption is the headline: the wireless link between sensor and panel is protected, which closes off the signal-spoofing and replay attacks that older unencrypted 345 MHz sensors are vulnerable to.
Two-way communication
PROSiX devices are bidirectional. Instead of blindly chirping a status the panel may or may not hear, each sensor confirms communication with the panel and reports supervision and low-battery conditions reliably. For the installer that means cleaner enrollment, dependable range, and fewer "phantom" trouble conditions in the field.
A full device family
The line spans the categories a complete system needs: door and window contacts, PIR motion detectors, glass-break detectors, smoke and heat detectors, carbon-monoxide detectors, flood and temperature sensors, and panic devices. Because they share one encrypted protocol, a tech can build an entire premises on a single, consistent sensor family.
Backward compatibility
ProSeries panels also accept legacy Honeywell 5800-series and the earlier SiX-series sensors (with a few exceptions, such as certain bi-directional sirens and keypads). That backward compatibility lets PDI reuse working devices during an upgrade and migrate a customer to the new platform without ripping every sensor off the wall on day one.
