Add eyes to an alarm. MotionViewer captures a clip the instant an intrusion is detected, and First Alert cameras and doorbells round out the visual layer.

A traditional alarm tells a monitoring station that something happened. Video verification tells them what happened — and that distinction changes how fast police respond.

How MotionViewer works

The ProSeries MotionViewer is a motion detector with a built-in camera. When it senses a potential intruder, it records a short clip and transmits it to the central station, where an operator can confirm an actual intrusion is in progress rather than dispatching on an unverified trip. Verified alarms reduce false dispatches and, in many jurisdictions, earn a higher police-response priority — a concrete benefit PDI can put in front of a commercial customer.

First Alert cameras and doorbells

The visual layer extends through Resideo's First Alert IP cameras and the VX1 HD video doorbell. These integrate with Total Connect 2.0 for live view, recorded clips, and two-way audio, letting a customer check a doorbell visitor or a back-room camera from the same app that controls the alarm.

Why it matters

For a light-commercial account, false-alarm fines and slow response are real costs. A system that verifies events before dispatch — and gives the owner self-service video — protects the customer's relationship with local responders and reduces the nuisance calls that erode satisfaction.
